Monroe College Admission Requirements

Monroe College Requirements for Admission

What are Monroe College's admission requirements? While there are a lot of pieces that go into a college application, you should focus on only a few critical things:

  • GPA requirements
  • Testing requirements, including SAT and ACT requirements
  • Application requirements

In this guide we'll cover what you need to get into Monroe College and build a strong application.

School location: Bronx, NY

Admissions Rate

If you want to get in, the first thing to look at is the acceptance rate. This tells you how competitive the school is and how serious their requirements are.

Unfortunately, we could not find an acceptance rate for Monroe College. We recommend that you contact the school's admission office for more information.

Monroe College GPA Requirements

Many schools specify a minimum GPA requirement, but this is often just the bare minimum to submit an application without immediately getting rejected.

The GPA requirement that really matters is the GPA you need for a real chance of getting in. For this, we look at the school's average GPA for its current students.

Average GPA

Monroe College did not report their average GPA for incoming students, and we could not calculate an expected average GPA. We recommend that you do a quick Google search to see if they've released new information.

SAT and ACT Requirements

Each school has different requirements for standardized testing. Most schools require the SAT or ACT, and many also require SAT subject tests.

Monroe College has indicated that the SAT or ACT is required for some applicants. This can mean a few things:
  • The SAT or ACT is optional, but recommended by the school to improve your application chances.
  • You might be able to get admitted with through your GPA or class ranking alone.
  • Only specific departments at the school require the SAT or ACT.
If you're applying to this and other schools, it's safest to take the SAT or ACT. This will maximize your chance of getting into the best school possible, especially since most other students will be submitting their scores. SAT/ACT Writing Section Requirements

Both the SAT and ACT have a Writing section that includes an essay.

Monroe College hasn't reported their stance on SAT/ACT Writing, but most likely they consider it to be optional. Thus you don't need to worry too much about Writing for this school, but other schools you're applying to may require it.

SAT Subject Test Requirements

Schools vary in their SAT subject test requirements. Typically, selective schools tend to require them, while most schools in the country do not.

We did not find information that Monroe College requires SAT subject tests, and so most likely it does not. At least 6 months before applying, you should still doublecheck just to make sure, so you have enough time to take the test.

Final Admissions Verdict

We just don't have that much information about this school. We don't know their admissions rate, their average SAT/ACT scores, or much about what they're looking for in an applicant. If you're interested in this school, we highly recommend you contact their admissions office directly.

Application Requirements

Every school requires an application with the bare essentials - high school transcript and GPA, application form, and other core information. Monroe College Essay

I've always had a strong passion for writing and I thought becoming a journalist was the perfect career for me. It wasn't until my senior year of high school where I realized the best major for me to study was Marketing. With journalism being such a competitive field, I knew I wasn't ready. Majoring in Marketing will teach me the skills I need to succeed and possibly become the journalist I've always dreamed of being.

I grew up in a small town in Connecticut where I thought I would never leave. In 2011 my mother decided to start a new beginning in Florida, 1196.3 miles away from my family and friends. That's when I discovered Monroe College. Not only is Monroe College located in New York where I am closer to my family but also near the city where my dreams will only expand. The New Rochelle on campus living would benefit me by helping me gain the experience I need to become an independent adult. Monroe College offers a broad range of courses that concentrate on marketing; where I can improve on my communication skills and learn how to work well with others and express my ideas to clients. I am able to write but also show my creativity. With a Marketing major I can prepare myself for a wide range of possible careers.

Monroe College School of Business will help me succeed by interacting and being taught by digital marketing directors, and marketing executives who will teach me the basic concepts of Marketing, such as, learning how to, negotiate public relations partnerships, develop social media strategies, and maintain positive brand reputations. This program will strengthen me and help me gain the independence I need by real-world experience.

I dream of being successful in the Marketing field so when it comes time for my little sister to graduate and go to college, she won't have to worry about expenses. I dream of getting the education I need to eventually be successful. I want to walk into work everyday with the biggest smile on my face, knowing that.

"At 7:30 a.m. on the morning of June 1, 1926 a young unwed mother named Gladys Monroe entered charity ward of the Los Angeles General Hospital. Two hours later she gave birth to a little girl Norma Jeane Mortenson. The father was listed as Edward Mortenson, a baker residing somewhere in California. Gladys took her baby home, and began a struggle to raise her daughter." (Brandon, pg.1) Unfortunately, Gladys had a history of mental instability and after only twelve days with her daughter she decided it would be best to leave Norma Jeane in foster care. For the next sixteen years Norma Jeane bounced back and forth from foster home to a friend of her mother's home. Shortly after Norma Jeane turned sixteen she wed Jim Dougherty who one year later joined the Merchant Marines and was sent overseas. While Jim was overseas Norma Jeane caught the eye of a photographer and soon was featured on thirty-three covers of national magazines. Norma Jeane eventually divorced Jim and signed a contract with Twentieth Century-Fox Studios who encouraged her to change her name, to Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn had a lot of controversy surrounding her life, but none as great as her death. +I am going to discuss the mysterious demise of the sex symbol Marilyn Monroe. * I am going discuss the countdown to her death, the alleged involvement of a third party, and finally the inconclusive evidence collected at the crime scene as well as at the autopsy.

Early in 1960, Marilyn was consulting with Dr. Ralph Greenson, a prominent psychoanalyst. As was common during this period, he relied heavily on drug therapy, prescribing 300 milligrams of barbiturates and tranquilizers in addition to his almost daily therapy sessions with Marilyn. Dr. Greenson later lessened her dosage to enable her to begin filming.
